The client used a basic TIK DICOM viewer that limited their ability to support complex conditions through mobile. They needed a powerful, intuitive DICOM solution, purpose-built for mobile, capable of rendering advanced visualization for stroke, aneurysm, and pulmonary embolism detection. Additionally, they needed a scalable platform to enable remote collaboration and rapid diagnostics.
The Solution
Advanced mobile-first DICOM viewer for intelligent diagnostics
CitiusTech developed a responsive mobile DICOM extension using the latest UI frameworks and integrated it with an open-source DICOM viewer. It enabled:
- Optimized memory management for generating and rendering Multi-Planar Reconstructions (MPR) of Stroke, Aneurysm, and PE datasets directly based on axial scan on the client side.
- Better decisions with enhanced 3D visualization with Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP) to assist in stroke diagnosis by rendering vascular structures after removing bone and non-vascular tissues.
- 2D viewing capabilities for left-right carotid and vertebral arteries extracted from axial scans.
- A robust, AWS-based real-time image-sharing framework, allowing care teams to collaboratively view, manipulate, and analyze DICOM images (Zoom, Pan, WL, Scroll, MIP, 3D Rotation) in live sessions for taking immediate feedback on complex cases.
